Situated 40km south from the centre of the famous Yirgacheffe region, farmers work in small cooperatives to produce heirloom, the native, original coffee species. The harvest is processed and 'washed' in the Gelena washing station, a part of the communal facility within the cooperative.
Gedeb is grown at a very high altitude, distinct wet and dry seasons with fertile volcanic soils provide loads of nutrition for the heirloom coffee plants, resulting in a clean, aromatic cup with the peachy, floral and black tea-like flavour profile.
